Tips for feeling your best in your swimwear

These days its easy to feel overwhelmed with the thought of jumping into a bikini and being in public. There is nothing worse than being on vacation or out with friends and feeling self conscious due to a lack of body confidence.

To keep it real, with pressure from society its hard to not feel lost sometimes, especially when its comes to body appearance. Here are a few tips to keep you feeling care free in your favorite swimwear!

Find the best swimsuit for you

Choosing the right swimsuit is crucial in feeling comfortable in it! Focus on looking for something that flatters your body shape. If you have fuller thighs, try a high cut style to elongate your legs. If you are self-conscious about your stomach, look for something high waisted or complimentary to a fuller figure.

Search for a color that compliments your skin tone and brings out your natural beauty. If you have fair skin try an Emerald green suit. If you have a warm skin tone look for earthy colors or even gold!

Finding a swimsuit that you feel beautiful in is the first step to feeling your best! The suit should make you feel comfortable and not afraid to show whom you really are. After all, you are one of a kind.

Self care

Now that you have found your new favorite swim piece, self-care is the next stop! It’s important to take care of you; it can be anything from staying hydrated to getting a mani/pedi.

Taking care of yourself doesn’t have to be expensive. You can exfoliate your face at home and apply a face mask. Try getting a wax or doing a self-tanner. There are many ways to take care of yourself to keep you feeling amazing in the sun.

Sometimes the best self-care is being physically active or taking some alone time for you to regroup. Grab a book or catch up on your favorite TV series. Taking care of your body and mind will bring out self-assurance you never thought you had.

Support your body

Supporting your body does not mean go on an extreme diet! It means show it some love by what you feed it. In today’s world most foods have saturated fats and are processed. Processed foods typically give you high and low emotions, make you feel lethargic, and don’t give you much energy.

Look for items that will make you feel less bloated, such as fresh foods, whole grains, greens, and smoothies!

Accessorize always

Accessories are the best way to complete your look.

Some ideas to pair with your swimsuit are: sunglasses, rings, bracelets, earrings, headbands, beach bags, anklets, headscarves, etc. Cover-up’s and wraps are amazing to help transition from tanning on the beach to lunch out on the town.

Confidence is key

It’s easier said than done! If you aren’t feeling confident at times, surround yourself with the people/things you love. Perspective is everything and often when we change our outlook on a situation, we start to feel more secure within ourselves.

Focus on your posture and your breathing. These things can help keep you in the moment and out of your head, especially in a crowded room!

The most important part of feeling beautiful in your swimwear is feeling joy in yourself. Don’t take yourself too serious, kick back, and enjoy the sun!
